Lunch date #3 for Principal Fieck on this rainy springtime Monday. Ms. Olivia Lande, a 3rd grader, in Mrs. Jankowski's class enjoyed eating her cheeseburger and talking Girls on the Run. Mr. Fieck shared with Olivia that he was presented a GOTR shirt (the big event was this past weekend) but he couldn't wear it, because it was too small. Olivia enjoyed looking around at all of the things in a principal's office, including the staff birthday list!

Just waiting on the Principal--in a good way!
These two adorable and very patient 2nd-grade students were waiting for the principal to finish his meeting/so they could enjoy lunch together. (As we all know the principal is a very busy guy). Delaney Greene and Evelynn Smith had to wait in the big fancy conference room- Soon Mr. Fieck was able to join them for a delicious cheeseburger lunch!
The girls learned about patience and the 7 Grandfather teachings. Have a great Monday!

Good morning,
Due to the weather forecast for rain and thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon we are moving the powwow at the Indian Bowl to our big gym. The pow wow will start at 2:30 pm. We will be awarding humility and introducing truth.

They say an apple a day can keep the doctor away, so what will eating an entire apple a day do...stem, seeds & all? Well, turns out, Miizhaquad (Sky) Beson eats the entire apple every day! Sky had lunch with Principal Fieck today and was super excited to talk with Mr. Fieck about Respect. Mr. Fieck also learned that she loves tigers. So he introduced his favorite stuffed tiger to her. Sky says she likes a tiger, because they are like a BIG cat!
Enjoy those apples & have a great weekend!

CHOCOLATE! CHOCOLATE & MORE CHOCOLATE!
2nd grade student, Kory LaBarge, was most looking forward to eating chocolate when having lunch with Principal Fieck today. Sounds like most students know that Mr. Fieck has a nice stash of chocolate in his office. The two conversed about mini bikes, yogurt parfaits, and turkey sandwiches. But the sampling of chocolate (with some Jelly Beans mixed in) was the best part of lunch for Kory. Happy Friday!!

LDF School had the ladies from Chippewa Valley Bank visit yesterday as guests who were presenting on financial literacy in Mr. Armstrong's class. When leaving for the afternoon they stopped in the school office and surprised the school staff with a donation to the school via a check made out for $2,500.00. LDF school understands the key elements of accepting a generous donation and will make sure the students benefit greatly from it. Please join us in thanking the Chippewa Valley team next time you visit the bank.

What a way to invest in our future!! THANK YOU!!

This is a message from the Lac du Flambeau School District
Good morning,
Due to rain in the forecast the middle school track meet at Three Lakes today has been cancelled. Three Lakes is looking into prospective reschedule dates but don't have a new date set yet.

Warrior Families,
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we inform you about a recent loss to our school community. On Monday, April 22 LdF staff member Grandma Sue Johnson started her journey on to be with The Great Spirit. She made a positive impact at our school and will be greatly missed. She will always be a beloved member of our Warrior community. Our sincere condolences and heartfelt thoughts go out to her family, friends and loved ones. All of us, staff and students, are saddened by the loss of Grandma Sue, and we ask for your support during this difficult time.
In order to support the large number of staff and students that would like to attend services for Grandma Sue, there will be no school this coming Friday, April 26. We hope this will provide the flexibility needed to support our students, staff and families during this time of need.
We also are passing along a request from the Johnson family for the services. Children under the age of 11 are requested to not attend the services. Thank you for your understanding.

Boozhoo Warrior Families,
A reminder that parent teacher conferences are scheduled for today Thursday, April 11 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. A delicious meal will be served in our new cafeteria. We hope to see everyone! - There will be no after school activities and no activity buses today.

Safety First! The solar eclipse that will take place today, Monday, April 8th promises to be a major event! A solar eclipse happens when the moon passes between the sun and the Earth casting the moon's shadow on the Earth, the last one occurred in 2017. Peter Christensen Health Center's Optometrist, Dr. Shane Brahm, advises to NOT LOOK directly at the sun during a solar eclipse. Dr. Brahm's office donated almost 300 expert-approved solar eclipse glasses to the school. The LDF administrative team and a few 2nd grade students (Colette Gregory's class) stopped to try on the glasses. A great big thank you to Dr. Brahm and the entire staff! What a great
EYE-DEA! The estimated time for the event will be after 2:00 p.m. here in Wisconsin.

Meet Scarlet the snowman! Today, while at recess, sweet little kindergarten student, Melodie Wildcat (Ms. Soto's class) created a magical snow friend and named her Scarlet. She even has pinecone hair!
BUT....the warm sunshine appeared and it happened as feared, Scarlet will go where all snowman go when the warm spring sun arrives. So, see you next year Scarlet! Seasons come and seasons go - we know Scarlet will be back for sure! Have a great weekend and thank you Melodie, for creating such magic for us all to see!

Look at this...First Snowman of the Year! As they say...when life sends a blizzard, make a snowman!
This picture was captured on the LDF School playground today - the snowman builder is Skylah Poupart (and friends we are assuming!)
Great Job! Bring on Spring!!

LDF School held a Special Luncheon for Grandparents and Elders today. Grandparents & Elders offer such wisdom and experience and what better way to show our appreciation than a formal invite to have a meal together with their little grandchildren. We hope our Grandparents & Elders know how very special they are and how much we appreciate them! It truly was a celebration! Happy Friday!

2024 Teddy Bear Parade Captures: Last year's King and Queen handed over the crowns to this year's King and Queen, Principal Ben Fieck and Admin/Assistant Cindy Kyska. Great job by the 4K team! And the students, WOW, the floats were fabulous! Every year this parade becomes bigger and better! Channel 12 news was on the warrior campus as well & did capture the event. The parade will be aired tonight on the 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. news. Thank you again everyone! Have a wonderful day!

It's a perfect First Day of Spring for Lunch & Friends in the principals office at LDF School! The office staff learned that 4th grade students, Kallie Soulier and Veronica Edwards, have been friends since the third day of 4th grade! On the fourth day, of 4th grade, they became BEST friends forever! Today, Kallie wanted to have lunch with Principal Fieck and wanted to invite Veronica. Mr. Fieck agreed, great idea!.
So... lots of giggles could be heard down the office hallway in between bites of mini corndogs! We think its' true: Friends are the people who make you smile brighter laugh louder and live better - what do you think? Have a great day!
